Feng Shui 101

What is Fung Shei?
Feng Shui is a living skill. It offers an integrated set of guidelines that can be learned and put into practice. The guidelines transcend limitations of culture and religions. Feng Shui is representative of Chinese science in the same manner that the electromagnetic spectrum in representative of Western Science, in which terms of visible and invisible light emissions in the electromagnetic spectrum are used to define our surroundings. The chi energy lines frequently referred to in feng shui underpin its whole practice. Chi consists of invisible lines of energy, picturesquely described as the “sonic breath” of the celestial dragon. Feng shui’s potency and visible effects are thus akin to the technological harnessing of electromagnetic energies seen in modern appliances.

How can Feng Shui Improve my Life?
Applying feng shui principles to our lies will create an awareness of the energy forces that surround us and in the process help us come to terms with every vital moment of existence.

The Basics
– There are four celestial guardians in feng shui: Black Tortoise, Green Dragon, Crimson Phoenix and White Tiger.

– Everything in the world comprises one of the five elements. Feng shui uses and appreciation of the cycles of how these elements relate to each other to dispel disharmony and promote harmony.

– The compass is an essential tool in feng shui practice. Its twenty four directions are referred to as the “twenty four mountains.”

Feng Shui is an ongoing study, this is only an introduction. To truly see the benefits of feng shui in your life it is necessary to understand the guidelines and begin applying them to your office, home et cetera.

Check yourself before you reck yourself – the ego

According to Eckhart Tolle in the book A New Earth, “No ego can last for long without the need for more. Therefore, eating keeps the ego alive much more than having. The ego wants to want more than it wants to have. And so the shallow satisfaction of having is always replaced by wanting. This is the psychological need for more, that is to say, more things to identify with. It is an addictive need, not an authentic one.”

Taming the ego is a constant struggle along the conscious journey, do not get discourage, rather understand this is part of staying the course. Like holding a pose in yoga even when the pose gets a little uncomfortable – let go of the physical part of the pose and go inward and focus on your breathing.

Are you staying authentic with yourself and look inward to your authentic self?

Are you buying things to have them or because you want them?

What are you doing to starve your ego?
