The Secret (set yourself free with the truth)
Keeping secrets hinders our ability to be truly intimate: with friends and mates. Also, holding on to a secrete costs us physically as well – chronic stress increases adrenaline and cortisol levels, two hormones that cause inflammation and manage the immune system.
What secrets are you hiding? If you are hiding any of these secrets, think about setting yourself free by unveiling these skeletons in your closet:
1. Unfinished business – unpaid debts, unmourned relatives and unkept promises
2. Denied reality – Are you facing something in your life you do not want to admit the truth about? Even if your feelings about an issue are mixed, therapy can help you take satisfaction and comfort in being honest with yourself.
3. Clandestine eating – secret eating, shame about eating habits
4. Family Shame – while you may be protecting a love one, the truth could really be the true protection for you and the loved one
5. Secret debt – overspending triggers a release of dopamine, which is the feel good neurotransmitter
While facing the truth is not easy, it is a necessary step in living a conscious life. Often tackling these types of issues can be difficult, so find a loved one, mentor or professional to assist you with you in dealing with these matters.
Getting through the eye of the needle can be difficult, however when you come through the other side, it is a whole new world !
The Secret to Life
The Secret to life according to J. Krishnamurti is to not mind what happens.
While this seems relatively simple, it truly does allow one to enjoy a productive life filled with happiness. While it is important to be conscious to what is happening, Allowing yourself to be ok with what is happening is where the “juice” in life is.
Do you try to control your own destiny?
Do you set a plan or enjoy the ride?
