Gratitude

During this Thanksgiving and holiday season we have so much to be grateful for, but do we express it to others?

Although we may internally experience an emotion/ feeling of gratitude, if left unexpressed their is avoid left:

Unexpressed gratitude is the same as ingratitude

Unexpressed gratitude is a form of rejection

Unexpressed gratitude has the same affect as rejection

Gratitude closes the loop in our relationships with others

What are you grateful for?

Are you willing to go back and express your thanks to those who have allowed you to move forward?

Ride Public Transportation

In many countries, public transportation is the major way to travel from point A to point B. In the United States many people never experience public transportation unless they travel to a major city. In fact most Americans take for granted the ability to travel in an automobile for their daily transportation. For those of us who do live in major metropolitan cities, how often do you pay attention to the ride?

If you do not travel via public transportation, try it out. If you use it regularly take time to observe the ride.

Do you know all the amazing attractions in your city? Most likely your public transportation stops at each one of them.

Do you understand the cultural and ethnic diversities of your community, city? One ride and you will experience a melting pot.

What are people doing on the ride? Observe the various time passing activities of various co-riders.

What feels/ emotions do you have during this experience? Locating the station/ stop, purchasing the ticket/ fare, the comfort/ uncomforted of the ride, and your interaction with others.

Chalk Lines

Was there a chalk line around your body this morning?

This morning I stopped by a local convenience store for a cup of coffee. The man who checked out before me ordered two tins of chewing tobacco and five Powerball tickets.

Handing him his loot and taking his money, the clerk asked “So, are you set for a good day?”

“I doubt it,” he replied with a scowl.

It made me think of a line that Les Brown uses. He says that every morning when he wakes up, he looks around his body. If he doesn’t see a chalk line, he knows it’s going to be a great day!

If you are reading this, it is a fair assumption that when you woke up this morning, there was not a chalk line around your body.

So what sort of a day did you choose to have when you got out of bed?

Opposite of our Spoken Word

I find it so perplexing the way we as humans will say one thing and than in the next minute take actions that is opposite of our spoken word.

Why do we live without conviction?

Why do we lack integrity?

Why do our thoughts not match our actions?

Why do we not choose the path of least resistance?
